MS - Officer facing $1.3M suit

Two longtime employees of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety are suing another employee for $1.3 million after, they said, he accelerated his vehicle in a threatening manner toward them nearly a year ago.

Florence Gaines and Maxine Daniels are accusing Robert Bradley, a captain at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy, of inflicting emotional distress intentionally and negligently.

"He came behind us like something out of a horror movie," Daniels said. "He could have killed us."

The women said Bradley did not display remorse, offer an apology or provide any explanation "as to his deliberate and/or reckless conduct."

Bradley "did, however, laugh, licked his tongue at the plaintiffs, and then sped away from the scene," they say in their lawsuit filed this month in Hinds County Circuit Court.

Bradley couldn't be reached for comment.
