Reading between the lines - a SWAT team love story

I talked to Mary Brooks, who lived across the street from the house where the altercation took place, and she said when officers arrived at her house to escort them out, her 3-year-old grandson had come in and said,”Police, police!”

She said she laughed and tried to reassure him that there were no police coming to get him.

“And then, all of a sudden, one came through my back door,” she said.

Some of the kids sitting on the corner said they’d “seen the whole thing.” But then they got all odd and suspicious and acted like I was possibly trying to frame them for the Kennedy Assassination, and they clammed up. Probably worried about the SWAT team guys they check under their beds and in their closets for at night.

My Thoughts:

The above few lines of text directly outlines the fear that is fed to our children.  Those children are going to grow up ALSO afraid to stand up against injustice.
