CT - Distinguished doctor charged with stealing candy at Stamford theater

A distinguished Westchester County doctor was arrested at the Bow Tie Cinemas on Wednesday night and charged with stealing a box of candy before slipping into a theater to watch a movie.

Dr. Stuart Zweibel, 59, of Waccabuc, N.Y., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released an hour later after he posted a $2,500 cash bond, Sgt. Simon Blanc said.

Zweibel, a dermatological surgeon at Westchester Health Associates, specializes in skin cancer, laser surgery and cosmetic surgery. He has been cited on several occasions in the Best Doctors issues of New York and Westchester magazines.
