CT - Cops investigate package on Route 110

STRATFORD -- A suspicious box found in the middle of Route 110 on Thursday morning turned out to be nothing more than a suitcase that likely fell out of a car, police said.

A Stratford police dispatcher said the road, which was closed for more than two hours as state and local authorities investigated the package, was re-opened just before 9:30 a.m.

The stretch of the road, also known as River Road, was closed at about 7 a.m., police said. Traffic was re-routed onto Main Street Putney, which parallels Route 110
