ID - Glaxo to pay Idaho $600K over faulty drugs
British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline PLC will pay the state of Idaho
more than $600,000 for selling substandard antidepressants and other
medicines produced at its former factory in Puerto Rico.
Idaho was among 37 states that filed complaints against the company under their consumer protection laws following a $750 million settlement with the federal government last October. The states reached a $40.75 million settlement with the company.
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden says the state will receive $602,825.
Both settlements involve production of adulterated, or substandard, products made from 2001 through 2005 at a factory in Cidra, Puerto Rico. The products included antidepressant Paxil CR, anti-infection ointment Bactroban and combination Type 2 diabetes pill Avandamet.
GlaxoSmithKline admits no wrongdoing.

So the great State of Idaho will reieve $602,825 from Glaxo, minus the attorney fees of ?!?!?!?!? for a net sum of bimfork. Meanwhile, the citizens of Idaho who took the defective drugs receive acompensation of what????
I don't get it, or rather I think I do and don't like it.
What do you think?
