IN - Rally will protest ruling that people must let police enter home
An Indiana Supreme Court ruling that a police officer was justified in searching a man's home over his protests has prompted threatening emails and phone calls, and state officials are pleading with the court to reconsider.
One man is trying to get the justice who authored the opinion removed. But the biggest outcry over the May 12 ruling might come Wednesday at a rally citizens have organized to protest the decision.
Will the court bow to mounting public pressure? Probably not, said Charles Geyh, a law professor at Indiana University-Bloomington who specializes in judicial conduct and ethics.
In fact, judges often face more scrutiny when they "kowtow" to the public, he said. "The judges take their jobs very seriously and work very hard not to be influenced by the sentiments of the moment."
The controversial ruling came in a Vanderburgh County case in which a man who had been questioned outside on a domestic violence call tussled with a police officer who tried to enter the man's home against his wishes.
A 3-2 majority agreed that the man didn't have the right to stop the officer from entering his home. According to their written opinion, allowing people to resist police, even if police unlawfully enter homes, could promote violence.

sentiments of the moment?!!
SENTIMENTS OF THE MOMENT?!!!
Give me a f^%$ing break!

Silly protesters. You don't protest tyrants with boos and jeers. Tyrants don't care about your "opinion". You can only oppose a tyrant with a shot-gun blast. If they refuse to obey the law then it is up to the citizens to enforce the law from the criminal government.

You need to get some right-thinking cops (if there are any in Indiana) to enter and search these Supreme Court judges homes.

I so glad to see that the people of IN stood up and said enough is enough.
The courts protect the cops, the courts need the cops to insure they can hold power.
Make them remember who they really work for!

Once the decision to revolk the Fourth Ammendment(not to mention the rest of the Constitution) is made at the highest levels, protests will be meaningless. "Those that make peaceful protests impossible make violent protests inevitable"---jfk
