The state Attorney General’s Office tried unsuccessfully to seal court documents detailing the alleged molestation of a 14-year-old girl by Vermont State Police Trooper Mark Beezup, records on file at Vermont Superior Court in Burlington show.

“Public disclosure of that information would in all likelihood significantly compromise the state’s investigation and intrude significantly upon the privacy of the persons involved,” a Feb. 14 motion filed by the Attorney General’s Office stated in part.
