CT - Police Union President punished for telling residents to arm themselves
Police union President Sgt. Louis Cavaliere is taking more heat for
telling residents to arm themselves in the wake of 16 cop layoffs last
week — this time from the Board of Aldermen.
Aldermen Tuesday voted in favor of a last-minute request that the police chief and Board of Police Commissioners discipline Cavaliere for his “reckless and inappropriate comments” suggesting “anarchy and arming of residents.”
“As an alderman who has had several shootings and murders in my ward, the disturbing comments of people taking up arms and taking the law into their own hands is absolutely and totally inappropriate,” said Alderman Yusuf I. Shah, D-23.
Cavaliere said after the layoffs: “The people of New Haven are going to have to start arming themselves, defend themselves and do whatever they can to protect their property.”

I live in Texas. We didn't need to be told to arms ourselves. I live 150 mi from Mexico. As far as shootings, I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six when the time comes...and it will

I so agree with you. I think that should be your age 18 celebration, getting your concealed weapons permit. 16 - license, 18 - gun, 21 drinking
heh.
