A corrections officer at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex was arrested on child pornography charges after detectives with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office determined that Internet file transfers containing obscene materials involving minors originated from his computer, according to a Marion County Sheriff’s office arrest report.
Ronnie Keith Young, 43, Dunnellon, was arrested at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, on 50 counts of child pornography with intent to distribute. Young was booked into the Marion County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and confiscated two computers and multiple external hard drives from Young’s home after tracking Internet file transfers using his IP address, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Jenifer Lowe.
