RI - Snow and ice cause fishing, recreational boats to sink

Within the past week there have been several incidents within southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island where recreational or small fishing vessels sunk at their pier or mooring due to excess weight from snow and ice. Two vessels are the Nelo 2 and the Victoria Elizabeth, boats which sank on Friday and Monday in Galilee. The Coast Guard will be releasing additional information about each sinking after further investigation.
As winter storms continue, more vessels may be at risk, wrote Verne Gifford in a press release from the United States Coast Guard.

Who cares? Too much weight in any boat will sink it. I'm more concerned that my country, the big boat, is sinking with the help of our govt. That concerns me.

This is an interesting story, but needs to be fleshed out a bit.
For example, the statement from the Coast Guard should be added verbatum. The number of small craft that have had issues needs to be given. Perhaps reports from 'local' media about this issue could be added.
Scientifically, perhaps a calculation of the amount of snow load that would be required to sink a particular craft would be an interesting addition to this.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to add:
That must be a hell of a lot of snow piling up, to actually SINK a boat!
Small craft routunely face heavy seas, with massive amounts of water being allowed to get on deck. The weight of this snow must have been quite significant, and quite a few inches deep.

    Good luck with your blog!
May I suggest that you actually display the name in clear, on your header? That would be a good tool in order that sheoples could remember what blogpost they are linked on...

    Hey, Thanks for the feedback.

I find that I spend a ton of time finding these little tid bits that once I find something other than a pumpkin festival, I'm ready to move on to the next little story. I see your point though. Some stories are better written from many sources.

Robert, why did you click the story then? heh. Hopefully I'll post something you'll enjoy another time.

    thanks again guys.
