CO - Library collecting helmet liners for soldiers
If you knit or crochet and have a bit of spare time and wool yarn,
you can help the Simla Branch Library collect helmet liners for
soldiers overseas.
The idea to help troops came from Simla Library staff member Nancy Chintala after she read an article in Colorado Country Life regarding community and knitting. In that article it describes the “cold nights in the summer and times of extreme cold in fall and winter” that soldiers experience in Afghanistan. It includes knitting instructions for the helmet liners.
Chintala proposed that the library collect at least 50 liners by Dec 15.
