NE - Chadron drops rule on carrying loaded guns
CHADRON, Neb. -- Gun rights advocates won a minor victory Monday, as the
Chadron City Council voted 3-2 to do away with an ordinance restricting the
carrying of loaded firearms on public property.
The decision, which carried over the objections of council members Rob
Harvey and Steve Duncan, was more sweeping than the measure considered in
the first two readings of the ordinance change. As initially discussed, the
council was considering only dropping the restriction against carrying a
loaded firearm in a vehicle inside city limits.
