BELMOND, Iowa - A teacher at Belmond-Klemme High School has been charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office says 33-year-old Jodi Lynn Barrus turned herself in to authorities on Wednesday and was released on bail later in the day.

Sheriff Paul Schultz says the alleged victim is an18-year-old male student at the school. He said the student and Barrushad a sexual relationship between December and this month.

A telephone message left Thursday for school officials wasn't immediately returned. The school's Web site lists Barrus as asocial studies and health teacher and head softball and volleyballcoach, but the Web site said her profile was no longer available.
