TN - Teacher accused of molestation receives "Gag Order"
Catoosa County Superior Court on Wednesday placed a gag order on Tonya Craft, the prosecuting and defense attorneys, and Catoosa County sheriff Phil Summers.
Craft went public recently on WRCB-TV Channel 3 Eyewitness News in Chattanooga to talk about the case and charges that were placed on her in 2007 involving alleged child molestation.
In 2008, the now-former elementary school teacher was accused of allegedly molesting a former student and was fired from Chickamauga Elementary School.
Craft has been very vocal of her innocence of being accused of molesting two girls inside her residence in Chickamauga. She has denied any and all wrongdoing.
Craft had been a kindergarten teacher at Chickamauga Elementary for three years.
According to a Sheriff’s Department report, the alleged crimes occurred between Aug. 10, 2005, and May 10, 2007.
Craft’s trial begins March 15 in Catoosa County Superior Court.

The gag order arrived after work hours on Wednesday at 5:29 p.m.
According to Kevin West, of WGOW Talk Radio! 102.3 FM, Craft was scheduled to appear on the radio station, and Craft and her legal team were not aware of the gag order that was placed the evening before and learned of it shortly before going on the air.
Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Court Judge Brian House signed the order.
The gag order states: “This Court ORDERS AND DIRECTS, that during pendency of the above cases and until fi-nal determination of this case in the trial court, all prosecutors, counsel for defense and persons affiliated therewith, the accused, court staff-including Clerk of Courtand deputies and assistants, Law Assistants, the Catoosa County Sheriff and his lawful Deputies, Bailiffs, court reporters, witnesses, all other law enforcement officers, and all other agents and employees of Catoosa County and the State of Georgia involved in said investigation,shall not release, make or authorize the release of any extra-judicial statement, for dissemination by any means of public communication and news media relating to those matters and concerning.
