SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Scottsdale police saya suicidal man who was shot after advancing on officers with a knife and what appeared to be a handgun has died.

Officer Dave Pubins said Saturday that 45-year-old Bryce Budge died at a Scottsdale hospital.

Officers were called to Budge's home near Hayden and Indian Bend roads by his roommate on Friday afternoon. Budge had severely cut his arms and neck and came at officers with the knife and a pellet gun that looked like a pistol.

One of the three officers at the home, Vince Johnson, fired several shots, fatally wounding Budge.Johnson is on routine administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
