COLUMBIA, S.C.: A bitter chill has settled in across the eastern half of the country, threatening crops, closing schools and making Charleston, S.C., feel more like New York City.

Don't like this Minnesota weather? Too bad - And there's nothing we can do about it, because we're all at the mercy of streets blanketed in ice that is too thick for plows and too stubborn for salt.

While many may be complaining about the unusual cold felt across Texas, please remember that the recent chill is just a tease for the three-ring circus of Arctic air about to hit Houston later this week.
