Dental Fluorosis in our children.
Our experience with stopping the use of flouride was rather alarming.
Something that you are led to believe your whole life as "safe" and "good for you" really causes alarming problems within you that you don't even know exist until you stop using any flouride. Flouride is absorbed through the skin so if you live in a flouridated area, chances of totally cutting out the use is slim.
Fortunately we moved to a property with a well, a non-floridated well. Once that happened, we stopped using flouride in our toothpaste, stopped drinking grape based products, stopped drinking tea and wine and paid attention to the canned food we were buying. Yes, flouride is in all of that stuff.
In less than a week every tooth in our mouths hurt. Literally, every single tooth. Then the aching joints and bones started. I started experiencing gas and stomach upset regularly. I thought it may have been gas but then the kidney pains started. My husband had the same issues except his were accelerated as he's got a longer build up and lived in NY, NY as a child (the first flouridated city).
We are healthy people with little aches and pains, this was absolutely horrendous.
2 weeks later the edge started wear off. Our urine was a dark dark orange color.
On a side note - we, by chance, started taking a multi-vitamin at this time. Nothing related because we didn't do that much research on the detoxing of flouride, not thinking it would cause us such extreme side effects. The multi- vitamin we chose is crap as we now know, but it was the best you can buy at Safeway. Flouride attaches itself to calcium, whether in the body or being digested through a multi-vitamin and healthy eating. You expel it the same way, through calcium waste.
3 weeks later - Things were getting much better, we weren't noticing pain in the same way as we were and the stomach issues were settling.
Note: My husbands libido soared at this time. Absolutely out of control...
4 weeks later - Winters are slow for us business wise so we tend to put on a few pounds in the Winter, this winter we are losing a slow amount of weight - about 1 lb every 2 weeks.
Once you start looking into this subject, you become overwhelmed with what you may not know. I discounted it but had an opportunity to "try it" by controlling our access to it. Here is just a small sample of some of the information out there.
