"I pulled the object from him ... and threw it away."
Schuringa gave his story to several media outlets after the plane landed at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
After the ordeal, Schuringa said his hands were a bit burned, but he'll be OK.
"I am shaken up. I am happy to be here," he said.
Schuringa'sparents tell a Dutch media organization that they are proud of him, butthankful he didn't lose his life or become seriously injured.

WHAT OBJECT? I have heard nothing about any "Object" - only powder & liquid!!!
"Suddenly, we hear a bang. It sounded like a firecracker went off. I saw smoke rising from a seat ... I didn’t hesitate. I just jumped," he told The New York Post.
"I pulled the object from him and tried to extinguish the fire with my hands and threw it away," he then told CNN.After the ordeal, Schuringa said his hands were a bit burned, but he'll be OK.
