About 4 months ago we decided to make changes in our lives, live more conservatively and try to put some serious cash away.  Included in those plans was an emergency kit.  Now granted, it's moved along slowly but it is coming along at a steady pace of a snail.  Here is my list and hopefully I'll be able to add to it in the months to come.

2 8oz jars peanut butter
21oz jar of pumpkin
6 family sized soups
20 individual soups
8 cans of chili
12 boxes of jello
48 bottles of water -yeah pathetic.... we're on a well and a creek so we tend to be lazy with this.
4 boxes of instant pudding
2 huge cans of sweet potatoes - again pathetic
2 cans of cat food
1 box of dog food
1 bottle of prenatal vitamins
1 bottle of centrum silver vitamins

basic first aid kit plus:
2 ace bandages
band-aids
1 bottle hydrogen oxide
1 bottle alcohol
1 bottle asprin
1 bottle nite tylenol
1 prescription dog antibiotic
1 liquid topic antibiotic, prescription
1 liquid dog antibiotic, prescription


1 40' length of parachute cord
1 military back pack
1 hiking back pack
1 compass
1 multi tool
1 8x10 tarp
1 12x24 tarp
1 fire maker army style
1 battery radio
2 packs of water purifier


I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but I'd like to add in the next few months:
sutures and needle
sleeping bags
lighting of some sort
solar radio or charger
and much more... lol
