When is it enough?

Our president is going tomorrow to accept a noble PEACE prize just a few days after he announces that he is sending 45,000 more troops.  Yes, 45,000 including the other 15,000 that no one is mentioning.  The ironic undertone of this anouncement  just has me continuing to think about it.  45,000 more people taken away from our home soil, 45,000 more soldiers going to do what?  Defend what?  Do what?  For what?  It's insane.

Not sure if you've seen on the news about the 4 Lakewood Police officers that were murdered in a coffee shop?  I'm sure  you have, it's on the news all day, every day.  I cried, I watched the memorial and then my husband said something that demoralized the entire huge gigantic procedure of mourning and coming together.

He said, "Why isn't this done for soldiers who die in the war?"

I didn't have an answer and I still don't.

They die in multiples.

They have families and children who suffer.

They die fighting and protecting us.

They are murdered in cold blood.

How much is enough people?  Is it when your way of life is affected?  Is it when there is finally no food to feed your children... will it be then that you turn to your husband or wife and say " This is ENOUGH!"  Is it then that you take steps to change your ways?  Is it then that you grow a backbone?

I'm so disgusted in our contentment.
